TOORAK LIBRARY: ANZAC DAY

This guide contains 6 activities based on the excellent ABC website (link is above in website section). Activities include developing empathy for soldiers' experiences from reading diary accounts, interviewing and creating biographies using the Profile section and even one that uses Google maps to explore the terrain at Gallipoli and devising a different landing plan.

This guide includes a wide range of activities, where students can take action. These include creating a Peace Park or a Memorabilia Exhibition, and writing postcards to Veterans.

This is an excellent Literature Base article highlighting a wide variety of suitable texts to explore Gallipoli. It includes picture storybooks, fiction and non-fiction books. The article provides a synopsis and a critical review of the books as well as including suggested questions and activities.

Resource with an activity inquiring into the contributions of Indigenous Australians in WW2. It contains 29 sources for students to critically analyse. Suitable for Year 4-6
