What does death teaches us about life? Historian are the forensics scientists of time and place. They collect and use Primary data to interpret and analyses the past.

What is a PRIMARY RESOURCE?

Primary sources may include diaries, letters, interviews, oral histories, photographs, newspaper articles, government documents, poems, novels, plays, and music.  The collection and analysis of primary sources is central to historical research.

RESEARCH SKILLS

Research skills:

  • Asking questions.
  • Use of Keywords. Look at what is being asked of you.
  • Selecting and evaluating information, and deciding when to use it.
  • Put together what you found from different resources.
  • Taking notes: put things into your own words.
  • Credit where you get your information from (Reference List/Bibliography)
  • Planning and time management.
