Using the Library Catalogue to Find Biographies

The quickest search method is to use a KEYWORD search. To see if the library has a biography by a particluar person enter the KEYWORDS biography and the person's name. For example: Scarlett biography. You can also search for biographies of people in certain professions, sports or other categories. For example: biography athletes, biography cricket, biography actors, biography journalists.

You can limit your search  to books in the Panckridge by selecting Panckridge in  the Limit by Location box.

Search the catalogue.

 

Biographies in the Fisher Library

In the Fisher Library most biographies are shelved  with the subject for which the person is famous. For example a biography on a Mt Everest mountain climber will be found at 796.522092. The 092 at the end of a call number indicates it is likely to be  a biography or autobiography. Some biographies are also shelved at 920.

Biographies in the Panckridge

Browse the biography collections in the Panckridge Library. Some are in the display cabinet and others are or on the shelves in the Biographies section. You are welcome to borrow any of these.
