Finding Articles Online.
The State Library subscribes to databases containing thousands of journal and newspaper articles.
You can now search all of the State Library databases, including JSTOR, in one search.
Go to the State Library and select Articles from the drop down box. (On mobile devices click the SEARCH button to reveal the drop down boxes.) Ensure the button is on Search the Catalogue. Enter your search term and click search. The results screen will appear. You can refine your search using the options on the left of the Results screen. Select an article. One or more databases will be listed. Select one. The Login screen will appear. Enter your State Library barcode number and your surname.
(If you have lost your State Library membership number contact the contact the State Library.)
State Library & National Library Article Databases Google Scholar gives you the option to show which articles are available through the State Library. To do this click on Settings above the Google icon on the Google home page then click on Library links and choose which libraries you want to displayed.
Email Alerts It is possible to set up an email alert to notify you when new information on your topic becomes available. You can do this from the Alert button above the Google Scholar logo on the home page, or the Create Alert option on the sidebar of the search results screen.
My Library Google Scholar Library allows you to save articles from the search page and organize them by topic. You will need to set up a Google account if you do not already have one. To save an article, log into your Google account then click the save button which is below the article. To see your saved articles click on My Library which is on the left sidebar of the result screen. To create labels click on Manage Labels on the left sidebar. Open the article, and then click on Labels which is above the article and add a label to the article. (For detailed instructions click here)
